The street photo below is of the main street of Sawtell taken in March 1964, the reason behind the photo is that Ernst cooper (our Great grandfather) was the shire president of Bellingen which included Sawtell at the time. When you go for your walk down the main street, take notice of the now heritage listed Fig Trees
We are originally from Bellingen,
Both families re located to Sawtell in 1999 and 2002, this is home for not only us, but also four of our children and three little grandchildren, only two of the children have stayed away doing bigger and better things! It is safe to say we love our little slice of paradise and hope you do too.
Our favourite spots in the area are
Dorrigo- where you can head off the the National Park, has amazing walks & waterfall's
Bellingen- the town itself, is like going back in time, it is a great day trip, driving through beautiful rolling green fields into the valley following the Bellingen River,
Jetty - There are beautiful walks along the jetty strip, if you are looking for a great view looking back over coffs harbour complete the mutton bird island walk. It is also a great spot for whale watching. There are plenty of bike paths, kids parks, bbq facilities and places to have a drink and eat in this area.
Boambee Bay – The prefect sheltered spot out of the wind with a beautiful creek to swim in, a kids park, BBQ facilities, a café and amenities block. They have stand up paddle boards and canoe hire available. There is a $5 charge per car to park in the area but it is well worth it.
Coffs Creek - If you are here on a Friday night through summer and feel like an outdoor food truck picnic experience head into coffs creek twilight markets, prefect for the kids with a beautiful view of the creek and mutton bird island, just pop in a picnic rug and swimmers and enjoy your evening
